Elder Network Provides Info Sessions On Topics That Are Important For All Ages
Not too long ago, my dad was diagnosed with colon cancer. At the time, it was thought to be pretty aggressive and there were other complications that made the situation seem pretty grim. Our family got together and during those moments, we learned what his wishes were for his funeral. He even had a chance to write down details and pick out a few things that were special for him that would help make this day a celebration and not just a funeral.
I would have rather been chatting with my dad about vacation planning rather than funeral planning. It was good to get it down on paper though and figure out details and a plan, and actually, anyone can work on these steps and at any age.
Through this experience and a few other recent conversations with my family, I learned how great it is to have resources available in this community. Questions will come up and it is important to have support and know where we can go for answers, especially for those topics that are a bit harder.
