St. Paul, MN (KROC-AM News) - The victim of the most recent murder in St. Paul was a former Rochester attorney.

The St. Paul Police Department says the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the man who was fatally shot while he was driving his car last night as 55-year-old Jeffrey Mintz. A family member has confirmed the St. Paul man was a former Rochester resident.

St. Paul Police say Mintz called 911 just before 10 PM and reported he had been shot while driving on University Avenue. Officers found him in his car near the intersection with Snelling Avenue with a gunshot wound to his chest.

He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he died about two hours later.

According to the Associated Press, his son Lee Mintz said his dad was an attorney who stopped practicing law to start his own company, but it never took off and he began driving for Uber Eats to make ends meet.

Police say preliminary information indicated that someone in another vehicle may have shot Mintz. No arrests have been made.
