Rochester, MN  (KROC AM News) - A former Rochester Police Dept. employee has resolved a 2016 criminal case.

A 5th-degree criminal sexual conduct charge was filed last May against 48-year-old Scott Kerrins of Grand Meadow.

He was accused of groping a female co-worker at her desk in February 2016. At the time, Kerrins was a supervisor in the police department’s records division.

Kerrins pleaded not guilty last August. The case was scheduled to go to trial but Kerrins worked out a settlement that will lead to a dismissal of the case if all the court conditions are met.

Under the agreement, Kerrins will be on unsupervised probation for one year. He has been ordered to undergo an evaluation and complete any recommendations and pay a $900 fee.

To avoid any conflicts of interest, the case was investigated by the Owatonna Police Dept. and prosecuted by the Steele County Attorney’s Office.
