Have You Ever Stayed In a Minnesota Silo? If Not, Here’s Your Chance
You can turn anything into an Airbnb nowadays, including an old farm silo.
This unique Airbnb in Clear Lake overlooks four Minnesota counties. It's only five minutes away from the Mississippi River, so bring your fishing pole and get ready to be lost in nature.
According to Airbnb's website:
"You ain't gonna find horses, goats, and an ol' swimmin' hole at most reputable Holiday Inns. But in Clear Lake, a "prairie retreat" an hour northwest of the metro, you'll discover all those barnyard amenities and more. That's because the place is a legit farm, one that the family has been working since the '50s. As farming profits dipped, the family reconfigured the unused silo as a rustic living space with endless views of their pastoral grounds."
If you're claustrophobic, this retreat might not be suitable for you.
As the pictures show, the space is limited. However, if you'd like an additional bedroom/bathroom, you can request one for an extra $75 per night.
The views from the bedroom are incredible. Plus, the room itself looks pretty comfy.
A guest named Anna wrote these kind works after her stay in September:
"The Silo is an enchanting place! Kensie, our wonderful host had it ready with the lanterns glowing for our late night arrival. Warm, rustic touches are everywhere at this historic farm. We loved every moment we were able to spend here, from watching the sun rise over the lake to ending each day playing with her very affectionate goats!"
