If the snow wasn't enough of a detriment to travel, getting stuck on a train track due to the snow definitely is. A woman driving a pick-up truck this morning got stuck on the train tracks near the intersection of Ravenna Trail and Polk Ave in Dakota County. Luckily the driver was able to escape the vehicle while sustaining minor injuries.

According to a Dakota County Sheriff's Office Facebook post, deputies received a call about a car stuck on the railroad track by Ravenna Trail and Polk Avenue. While en route to the stuck vehicle, deputies requested that members of Dakota County dispatch contact the CP Rail to have them stop all trains on that track.

Deputies received information that there were three bystanders there trying to push the vehicle off the tracks while the owner of the vehicle was inside. A short time later, dispatchers notified the deputies en route that a train had hit the car. Fortunatly, the owner only received minor injuries. The post goes on to thank the citizens that stopped to assist; citing that "if it were not for them this could have potentially had a different outcome for the driver."

The Dakota County Sheriff's Office knows who one of the bystanders is that assisted in this call. The Sheriff's Office is currently seeking the other two so that the individuals can recognize them for their heroic act.
