Shocking Study Reveals Rochester Residents' Monthly Bill Costs
The Cost of Bills Index reports that the average household in Rochester spends 28% of their annual income on the 9 most common bills, which is $2,116 a month or $25,388 a year.

Doxo's 2024 Cost of Bills report examines the nine most common household bills (Utilities, Cable & Phone, Mobile Phone, Auto Loans, Auto Insurance, Life Insurance, Health Insurance, Alarm & Security, Rent or Mortgage) to compare the cost of living in different areas.
Unsurprisingly, the report shows that residents of Hawaii pay the most for bills, followed by those in California and Massachusetts. Kentucky is the cheapest state.
Believe it or not, the study finds that household expenses in Rochester are the same as the national average of $2,126, and 5% lower than the state average of $2,216.
