Throwback Music + Glowing Costumes = Rochester’s Coolest Show This Fall

I'm always on the lookout for fun things to do with my kids that don't involve screens. In the summer, it's usually pretty easy to get outside and explore Rochester and Southeast Minnesota, but it gets a bit harder to find options that everyone enjoys when the weather cools down.

By the time late October rolls around here in Rochester, it’s definitely colder, and we might even see freezing rain or snow. But I just came across an exciting event happening inside the Mayo Civic Center that I think families will love. It’s called iLuminate, and it was named the best new act in America by the judges on America’s Got Talent back in 2011.

What makes iLuminate so unique is how it mixes throwback hits from the 70s, 80s, and 90s with high-energy dance, and all the performers wear LED light suits.

iLuminate blew up after appearing on America’s Got Talent. Since then, the group has been featured on shows like Dancing with the Stars, The X-Factor, Good Morning America, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and The Wendy Williams Show.

They've also performed at major events like the American Music Awards, MTV VMAs, BET Awards, the Nickelodeon Awards, and both the Billboard and Latin Billboard Awards.
