Anyone who is taking a road trip through or around the state of Iowa absolutely needs to stop and check out this Immersive Art Experience. This has been a constant 20-year project, taking place in one man's home, and is one of the most unique art experiences I've ever seen.

Located in Fairfield, Iowa, Tom Lassota has spent over 20 years creating this insane art masterpiece throughout his house. The work on this project began in 1992 when Tom moved to Fairfield. According to Iowa Road Trip, Tom had to "alter the roof by 6 feet to enable visitors to see his creations on the second and third floors."

This exhibit is full of a variety of fluorescent colors, black lights, and 3D objects that remain in constant motion. I wasn't alive during the psychedelic era in the 60s and 70s but I'd imagine this could potentially bring back a lot of memories for those that were. To make things even better, if you'd like to experience Fairfield's Immersive Art Fun House, it's free! While the experience is free, donations are accepted.

In the video, you can see why this has been a constant project for its creator, Tom. You can see all of the detail and effort that's been put into this art experience. How can someone even be this creative? There are sights and sounds throughout the entire house! This looks like something straight from Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory. All Tom would need to do is head to the island of Loompaland and add the Oompa Loompa's.

When And Where?

According to Iowa Road Trip, Iowa's Immersive Art Fun House is located at 702 South 5th Street, Fairfield. The house is open to guests on select Saturdays from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. You can find the schedule at Fairfield's Immersive Art Fun House facebook page.
