Brownton, MN (KROC AM News) - An Iowa man was killed and two young children in his car were hurt in a three-vehicle traffic wreck in southern Minnesota Saturday.

The crash happened around 3:30 pm near the town of Brownton.

The State Patrol says 24-year-old Jason Cobb of Wesley, Iowa was on Highway 15 when his car collided with two oncoming vehicles. One was a pickup truck and the other was a passenger car.

Cobb was not wearing a seatbelt and died at the scene. A 2-year-old boy and a 4-year-old girl were in the car and both were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The pickup was driven by 54-year-old Dean Helget of New Ulm. He was not hurt.

The third driver was 68-year-old Eugene Johnson of Richland. He and his wife suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
