Yes, it might be mid-June, but Old Man Winter is really never too far away, as one Minnesota forecast shows this week!

Now, we're not talking about snow, mind you, but there IS the distinct possibility of FROST in the forecast for parts of Minnesota Wednesday night into Thursday morning! Really. On June 12th.

Luckily, it's not in the forecast for our neck of the woods here in Rochester or anywhere in southeast Minnesota, but it's a different story for our fellow Minnesotans up in Duluth and along the North Shore. The National Weather Service Duluth Office issued a quick head's up on their Twitter page yesterday, saying "Wednesday and Thursday morning will be chilly. You may need to take precautions to save your plants from frost damage," the post noted.

Yikes. Frost. In Minnesota. In June. Is there any month when we're not overshadowed by our cold weather?!? I mean, come on-- if this keeps up, even on the 4th of July up north, Minnesota could be known as the Land of 10,000 FROZEN Lakes this year!

(Although, once we get our first extended heatwave-- you know, the one where temps in jump into the 90's and the humidity gets really high-- I'll probably be wishing we had some frost here too...)
