St. Paul, MN (MinnesotaNow) - The Minnesota State Patrol says a speeding motorist caused a fatal crash early today along I-94 in St. Paul.

The preliminary crash report indicates the deadly incident occurred just before 3 a.m. on the exit ramp from the freeway to Dale Street. The State Patrol says a Tesla driven by 22-year-old Musab Ibrahim Kosar of Fridley was traveling at a high rate of speed on the exit ramp when it collided with an SUV crossing the intersection at Dale Street.

The driver of the SUV, identified as 31-year-old Benjamin Michael Villano of St. Paul, was transported to Regions Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Kosar and his passenger, a 19-year-old woman, were also taken to Regions Hospital. Their injuries were described as non-life-threatening.

The State Patrol report indicates all three people involved in the crash were wearing seatbelts. It is currently unknown if alcohol was involved.
