Even the most hardcore foodies know that the best breakfasts aren't necessarily the most intricate dishes, served at the most exquisite restaurants across the country.

Quite frankly, that sounds like a very boring breakfast to me, and everyone has likely realized by now that the best breakfasts are enjoyed at a town's hidden gem or one of its hole-in-the-wall cafés.

Because of that, finding the best hole-in-the-wall breakfasts can be challenging, unless you live in one of the cities where they're located. Thankfully, the folks at Daily Meal did their due diligence and picked the best hole-in-the-wall breakfast spot in every state, including Minnesota.

If you have yet to give it a try, then you'll need to put this at the top of your "must try" list and be sure to arrive there hungry.

The Best Hole-In-The-Wall Breakfast Spot In Minnesota

While decisions like this are always open for debate, because people are rightfully passionate about the locally owned places to eat within the community, this study has decided where the best hole-in-the-wall breakfast spot is right now in Minnesota, and for those who have been there, it's tough to argue the choice.

The best hole-in-the-wall breakfast spot in Minnesota features counter service with just 14 seats and locals and visitors who all swear by the food. Al's Breakfast, located in Dinkytown at 413 14th Ave SE, is a place everyone must make it a point to visit.

This hole-in-the-wall is a James Beard award winner, features a variety of amazing scrambles, egg dishes, omelets, pancakes, waffles, and more. Al's Breakfast is open Monday through Saturday from 6 am to 1 pm, and Sundays from 9 am to 1 pm.

Yelp is filled with positive reviews for Al's, even for its most basic items like scrambled eggs, with one customer raving, "these may have been the best scrambled eggs we have ever tasted - creamy and cheesy with a well-toasted, simple slice of rye. For such a simple dish, we were taken aback by how well-executed it was."
