For some, retirement may just be around the corner. For others like me, we've got a ways to go. When you finally do get the chance to retire and enjoy your golden years, you want to make the most out of it, right?

There's a new report out by Stacker that names the best place to retire in every one of the 50 states. In recent years, more people are moving when they retire. According to Hire A Helper report last year, 388,000 people relocated after they retired.

Some of the factors that determine where they rank places to retire include the cost of living, recreational activities, government services, and health care facilities. Other factors also are the climate, crime rate, eating establishments, and entertainment opportunities. After all, you want to have activities to do with all your free time.

Best Place To Retire In Minnesota

Ranker looked at the data for Minnesota and found that Big Stone County, in western Minnesota, is the best place to retire in the state.

The county seat of Big Stone is Ortonville, a small town on the South Dakota border.

Why? They say the fact that the county has 3 dozen bodies of water brings all sorts of activities like fishing, swimming, and boating in the summer. Retirees can enjoy great bird watching in the fall and spring. In the winter, there's snowmobiling and cross country skiing.

And another bonus is that Big Stone Lake has a large complex of assisted-living facilities.
