Hugh Jackman Teaches Charlie Berens Australian Accent With 3 Words
In case you missed it over the holidays, Hugh Jackman was in Wisconsin! Why was he in Wisconsin? He was promoting his new movie, "A Song Sung Blue." He stars alongside Kate Hudson in the story of a Neil Diamond Tribute band and a couple from Milwaukee.
He did some promotional stunts and visited with some local Wisconsinites. Wisconsin's own Charlie Berens had a chance to interview Hugh Jackman. It appears the two hit it off pretty well, with some genuine conversations between the two of them.
'Old Fashioned Interview with Hugh Jackman'
For those that don't know, Charlie Berens has a journalism background and shows off his skill with his interview, asking Jackman some really personal questions, but also sharing some laughs. You can tell they were there for quite some time, as by the time the interview was over, it was pitch black outside the bar. (To be fair, that could be 4:30 PM this time of year.)
'Charlie Learns Australian Accent'
Charlie tells Jackman that he doesn't know how to do an Australian accent. It is a bit tricky. He tells Charlie to say three words: "rise, up, lights." Like if you wanted there to be more light in the room.
So, try it out loud yourself: "rise up lights."
Jackman then explains that Charlie just said razor blades in Australian. The look of pure joy is genuine.
Check out the full interview below; it's worth watching the full 27 minutes.
