Northern Minnesota To Get National Attention On New TV Series
Life in Northern Minnesota has become one of Minnesota's great draws, and the numbers back it up: the Duluth area alone welcomes roughly 6.7 million visitors every year, generating well over $780 million in direct economic impact. Tourism sits among the region's largest industries, and it doesn't appear to be slowing down.
Statewide, the pull is just as real. Minnesota welcomed 168,000 international travelers in 2025, and reports indicate visitors have poured hundreds of millions into local businesses in recent years.
University of Minnesota-Duluth researchers have even mapped how tourism growth ripples outward, adding jobs across other industries with every visitor who fills a hotel room or a downtown café.
So it feels fitting that the region is about to get a national close-up.
A New Show, A Bigger Stage
A new television series called Lake Superior Living is going into production to spotlight the Duluth-area for audiences far beyond Minnesota and Wisconsin.

According to the official announcement, the show is hosted by local real estate leader Alicia Lokke. It airs on the REAL Shows Network, a national platform built around real estate and lifestyle storytelling, as well as some of the most-viewed streaming providers in the world.
The Show Will Feature More Than Real Estate
The series is built around 30-minute episodes that blend distinctive properties with the people and places that give Duluth its character.
Coverage reportedly frames it as equal parts real estate showcase and community love letter, weaving in local businesses, nonprofits, and neighborhoods that rarely get national airtime.

"Lake Superior Living is about so much more than beautiful homes," Lokke said in the announcement. "It's about the people, places, and stories that make this region unforgettable."
She added that the goal is to inspire longtime residents, first-time visitors, and prospective homebuyers alike to explore somewhere new or see the community through a different lens.
Cinematic Polish Behind the Camera
This isn't a low-budget local spot. The series was created by an Emmy-nominated, Telly Award-winning production team, promising the kind of cinematic, lifestyle-driven storytelling usually reserved for glossy national networks.
How to Watch The Series
The first episode of Lake Superior Living will go into production early this fall, and while an exact release date for the first episode isn't currently available, producers expect it to be available in early 2027.
You'll be able to see the new series through a variety of streaming providers, including:
- The REAL Shows Network, a national platform available at realshows.tv.
- Amazon Fire TV
- Roku
- Apple TV
- Tubi
