Wild Video Captures Bizarre Deer Encounter at Minnesota PD
One Minnesota police department shared a video of a wild encounter with a deer, and now that video is going viral.
The incident happened last month at the Rosemount Police Department headquarters when a deer leapt over the 10-foot-high fence surrounding their parking lot. Officers attempted to help the deer find the exit, but what happened next caught everyone by surprise, and it was all caught on video.

Viral Video Shows Minnesota Police Encounter With Deer
Police Chief Mikael Dahlstrom told the Star Tribune that even though the incident happened weeks ago, the surveillance and dashcam footage was "just too much fun to keep in-house." So, last week, the department shared a creatively edited version of the video on social media.

In the clip, the deer can be seen frantically running around as officers use flashlights and their bodies to try to guide it toward the open gate.
Leaping Doe Nearly Collides With Officer
Eventually, the doe sprinted toward one officer and leapt directly over him. Luckily, the officer, identified by the Star Tribune as Jon Klecker, ducked just in time, avoiding a direct collision with the animal.
Chief Dahlstrom added that hoof prints, deer hair, and grass stains were later found on Officer Klecker's vest as evidence of the close encounter.
The deer ultimately found its way out and took off. One officer later edited the footage with Akon’s “Locked Up” as the soundtrack, premiering the hilarious version at the department’s annual awards banquet, which happened to fall on the same day as the incident.
