GETTIN' HITCHED?

A lot of people have crazy ideas when it comes to their wedding ceremony. Some people like to jump out of airplanes, Say ‘I Do’ underwater… Bungee Jumping after they’ve been announced husband and wife, and even getting married on a roller coaster. Well if getting married at a county fair has always been your idea of the perfect wedding, you are in luck!

MINNESOTA JUDGES SAY 'I WILL' TO PERFORM CEREMONIES WHERE?

Minnesota Judges have decided to perform weddings at the following county fairs in August on the following dates:

  • Dakota County:    August 5, 6,7,8, and 10th.
  • Goodhue County: August 7th and 8th.
  • McCleod County:  August 16th and 17th

HOW TO MAKE YOUR WEDDING PLANS

If you want to take the judges up on their offer, you’ll need to choose the fair you want to go to for your wedding vows and contact the county court to register. You cannot just show up and expect them to get you hitched.

What if you live in a different county in Minnesota? No problem. You DO not have to live in these counties to have a wedding at one of the fairs.

READY FOR SOME FUN? TIPS FOR A GOOD TIME

I might suggest that you get to the fair early and go on all of the rides you want to and THEN get married and have your county fair reception;  but hey, it’s your wedding. Do what you want!

So what do you say?  Get your wedding party together, gather up your friends, and get ready to have some fun.  There’s plenty of food for everyone; even kids! The main course can be corn dogs, with cheese curds, fries, funnel cake, and shakes for dessert. It sounds kind of fun!
