At Least 2 Killed & 3 Critically Injured in Rural Minnesota Crash
Pine River, MN (KROC-AM News) - The State Patrol is indicating alcohol was involved in a tragic incident early Sunday.
At least two people were killed and three others were critically injured in a head-on collision along a rural highway in north-central Minnesota. The State Patrol report indicates alcohol was detected in the driver of a pickup involved in the deadly crash west of Pine River and about 25 miles north of Brainerd.
The State Patrol says 32-year-old Kyle Daniel Jones of Bayport was among the three people who were critically hurt in the crash, which was reported around 12:30 AM. He and his passenger, 30-year-old Mandy Tellinghuisen of Bayport, and a passenger in the other vehicle, 53-year-old Kelly Kuschel of Pine River, were all transported to St. Joseph Hospital in Brainerd with life-threatening injuries.
The other driver was identified as 39-year-old Royal Noe of Hillman. The State Patrol says he and one of his passengers, 40-year-old Heather Cevallos of Brainerd, were pronounced dead at the scene.
The State Patrol says the name and information concerning the medical condition of a second passenger in the vehicle is being withheld until Monday morning. At this point the State Patrol is only saying he is a 36-year-old man from Brainerd.
