Burst Pipe Causes Closure of Stewartville School Building
Stewartville, MN (KROC-AM News)- Middle and high school students in Stewartville will not be in school Monday.
The Stewartville Public School district announced Sunday the building that houses the middle and high school is closed after a water pipe broke over the weekend. There’s no instruction Monday for middle and high school students.
Olmsted County Sheriff's Captain James Schueller said the busted pipe triggered an alarm in the building around 10:30 Sunday morning. Water from the pipe destroyed the ceiling in the administrative office, flooded office spaces and left 2-3 inches of water in a nearby corridor.
District officials have not announced the schedule for the remainder of the week and say they will keep families updated on the situation. Classes at the CEC Preschool, Bonner Elementary School and Bear Cave Intermediate School are in session Monday.
