Sheriff’s Captain James Schueller said deputies were dispatched to a Byron residence in the 800 block of Towne Dr. Northeast on the report of 49-year-old Todd McIntyre violating a Domestic Abuse No Contact Order (DANCO) around 5:30 p.m. Thursday. Deputies reported hearing the sound of a male’s voice as they approached the home and they said the voice stopped after deputies knocked on the door.

Schueller said a juvenile girl answered the door and told deputies McIntyre was hiding in a closet. Schueller said deputies also made contact over the phone with the woman who lives at the residence and has the order against McIntyre. He said the woman threatened to ram squad vehicles at the scene if the sheriff’s office did not immediately leave the property.

Schueller said deputies moved quickly to arrest McIntyre before the woman got home. He said McIntyre obeyed deputies commands and exited the closet and was placed in handcuffs

As deputies escorted McIntyre out of the home, he began to show physical signs of resisting arrest, Schueller said. McIntyre then reportedly kicked over a garbage can outside of the home and head-butted the rear window of the squad vehicle.

He then slammed his head into the cage inside of the squad vehicle and became belligerent as deputies transported him to jail, according to Schueller. McIntyre then began to direct derogatory, profane-laced statements at deputies and threatened to go to their homes and kill them, saying he had their badge numbers and that he never forgets, Schueller said.

Court records indicate McIntyre was convicted of felony domestic assault in Olmsted county in 2010 and has misdemeanor convictions for domestic assault, violating an order for protection, disorderly conduct and obstructing the legal process. Schueller says McIntyre is facing possible charges of felony DANCO violation and felony threats.
