Raid of Rochester Apartments Leads to Large Cocaine Bust, Suspect Charged
28-year-old Aries Nyee Candler is charged with first-degree drug sales and first-degree drug possession.
The charges say law enforcement executed the warrants at 4321 Boxwood Place NW and at the Village of Essex Park Apartments, located at 1111 41st Street NW.
Authorities detained Candler at the Boxwood residence, where they found a combined $5,730 in currency, a Cashapp card linked to Candler’s phone number, smashed phones and a laptop, the charges say.
At Essex Park, investigators located baggies containing a combined 176.1 grams of cocaine and a digital scale with white residue, according to the complaint.
A review of the phones seized during the raids led to the discovery of multiple messages and payment app transitions depicting drug sales, the complaint says.
Court records indicate Candler was convicted of fifth-degree drug sales in a 2016 Olmsted County case.
The Rochester man’s conditional bail was set at $100,000 Tuesday morning. He’s due back in court later this month.
