That’s according to Dodge County Sheriff Scott Rose. The series of pursuits began around 1:00 Tuesday afternoon.

Rose said deputies were advised the State Patrol was in pursuit of a subject, who had a court order to turn over a DNA sample, in the Dodge Center area.

Troopers terminated the pursuit while Dodge County Deputies were responding to assist. Deputies then found the suspect vehicle parked in the driveway of a residence in the 63000 block of 150th Ave., which is on the south side of Hwy. 14 just east of Claremont.

The subject was spotted walking around a garage and was advised he was under arrest. He refused deputy commands and was taken to the ground after tased, Rose said.

The man then got up, got into his vehicle and fled from the residence by driving around Dodge County Deputies who used their squad vehicles to block the driveway at the home, according to Rose.

Law enforcement pursued the vehicle through multiple areas of western Dodge and briefly eastern Steele Counties. At one point, a state trooper successfully deployed stop sticks, which eventually caused the vehicle to stop.

Rose said the subject got out and began reaching into the vehicle’s back seat. Deputies, who Rose said had their firearms drawn, ordered him to stop reaching in the vehicle and to get on the ground.

Deputies then shot less than lethal pepper balls at the subject, however he continued to aggressively approach law enforcement. He was tased a second time, fell to the ground and was handcuffed.

He was transported to the Olmsted County Jail in Rochester where he’s being held on multiple charges. The man’s name has not been released and the news release does not say the case the subject was ordered to submit a DNA sample for.
