
Accidental Drowning Confirmed at Tettegouche State Park
Silver Bay, MN (KROC-AM News) - Minnesota authorities have identified a Kansas man who drowned on the 4th of July.
The Lake County Sheriff's Office says deputies were called to Tettegouche State Park along the North Shore of Lake Superior around 1 p.m. on Friday after receiving a report of a man underwater at Illgen Falls. A 911 caller indicated the man had been underwater for about 10 minutes.
A news release on the incident says the responding deputies were told the victim was swimming with a group of people and was seen struggling in the water. A member of his group attempted to help but was thwarted by the deep water.
According to the Sheriff's Office, the St. Louis County Rescue Squad was asked to respond, and members of the team located the victim in about 32 feet of water. He has been identified as 25-year-old Hari Kiran Gowd Senagana from Overland Park, Kansas.

The news release indicates the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office has preliminarily ruled his death an accidental drowning.
