
Pick-up Driver Killed in Head-on Crash With School Bus in Twin Cities

Andover, MN (MinnesotaNow)- One person was killed and two others were hurt after a head-on crash involving a school bus in the Twin Cities area Tuesday morning.

A news release issued by the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office says the fatal collision occurred shortly before 7 a.m.
Authorities indicate students were riding on the bus when it collided head-on with a pick-up truck towing a trailer.

The deadly crash occurred at 175th Ave. NW and Roanoke St. NW in Andover.
Preliminary information indicates the pick-up was heading north on Roanoke St. NW when it entered the southbound lane and collided head-on with the bus, according to the news release.

The man driving the pick-up was pronounced dead at the scene despite life-saving measures, authorities say. His name has not been released.
Five students were on the bus, which was heading to Anoka High School at the time of the collision.
One student and the bus driver, described in the news release as a woman, were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Their names also have not been released.
The four other students on the bus were picked up at the scene by their parents. Authorities are investigating the fatal head-on crash.
