Body Found After Fire Destroyed Rural Minnesota Home
Staples, MN (KROC-AM News) - The State Fire Marshal's Office is assisting with the investigation into the cause of a deadly house fire today in north-central Minnesota.
The Cass County Sheriff's Office is reporting that firefighters and other first-responders rushed to a property about 5 miles north of Staples just before 11 AM after receiving a report of a house on fire. When they arrived at the scene, they found the home engulfed in flames.
A news release says a deceased adult male was located inside the burned up home after the fire was extinguished. Two other adult victims were brought to the hospital in Staples suffering from smoke inhalation.
The name of the victim has not been released and information about the medical conditions of the two survivors is not available.
The Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office has been asked to perform an autopsy.
