Chatfield, MN (KROC-AM News) - A couple from Chatfield is facing felony tax evasion charges.

The Minnesota Department of Revenue says Jeffrey Paul O'Connor and Trista Jean O'Connor have been charged in Ramsey County Court with six counts each of failing to file individual income tax returns. Jeffrey O'Connor is facing an additional six felony charges of failing to file corporate income tax returns.

According to the criminal complaints, the couple is accused of failing to pay more than $470,000 in income and corporate tax, along with penalties and interest.

The court documents allege they failed to file their individual income tax returns from 2017 through 2022. It's also alleged that Mr. O'Connor also failed to file corporate income tax returns for his business, Twin City Trimmers.

The news release notes that O'Connor filed a tax return for 2016 and allegedly used payroll withholding software for his business, which prosecutors say is an indication that he was aware of his business tax obligations.
