Former Rochester Employee Accused of Placing Camera in Restroom
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A former employee of the City of Rochester has been charged with placing a video camera in a staff-only restroom at the Rochester Public Library.
The gross misdemeanor charge of interference with privacy filed against 66-year-old Todd Christian Lund stems from an incident that occurred on October 6. A news release issued by the City of Rochester indicates an employee at the library discovered the camera, which was in a restroom that required a city-issued badge to enter.
The employee who discovered the camera alerted management and the camera was immediately removed. The Rochester Police Department then launched an investigation and inspected the other restrooms in the library and no other cameras were found.
The news release says the investigation determined the camera had been installed less than two hours before it was discovered. The news release indicates Lund was fired shortly after the investigation was completed. He had worked at the library since 2010.
