Guilty Plea in Rochester Child Pornography Investigation
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - An Olmsted County judge today ordered a psychosexual evaluation of a Rochester man to prepare for his sentencing for a child pornography conviction.
35-year-old Graeme Douglas Campbell entered guilty pleas today to two counts of possession of child pornography. Under the terms of his plea agreement, a third felony charge will be dismissed.
Campbell was charged in February as a result of an investigation that began last November after Rochester police received a tip concerning suspected child sexual abuse material discovered by Twitter. The criminal complaint says investigators were able to trace the Google account associated with the Twitter account to Campbell.
The court document says a search warrant was obtained for his home last December. The search resulted in the seizure of two cell phones and the discovery of more than 150 images and files depicting child sexual abuse. Investigators indicated one of the files shows a victim who appears to be an infant being sexually assaulted by an adult male.
The complaint says Campbell spoke with investigators and admitted that he had been accessing child pornography through social media and other websites for several years. The charges also indicate that Campbell admitted sending child sexual abuse material to other people.
He is scheduled to be sentenced in September. The plea agreement recommends a stayed prison term, potentially two months in jail, and up to five years on probation.
