Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- A crash on Hwy. 52 in southwest Rochester sent a passenger to the hospital Monday morning.

One vehicle occupied by two men was involved in the crash. The State Patrol responded to the crash shortly after 6:15 a.m.

39-Year-Old Rochester Man Brought to St. Mary's After Car Slams into Concrete Barrier on Hwy. 52

The car collided with the concrete median barrier at the Hwy. 52 and 16th St. SW interchange. The state crash report indicates the driver lost control of the vehicle as he was traveling south. 

24-year-old Mohamed Abukar Ahmed of Rochester was driving the car. He was not injured, according to the State Patrol. 

39-year-old Yahye Hasan Mohamed of Rochester was riding in the car. The State Patrol says he was brought to St. Mary’s Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Mohamed and Ahmed were both buckled up and alcohol was not involved in the crash, according to the state crash report

The Rochester Fire Department, Rochester Police Department and Mayo Clinic Ambulance also responded to the crash.
