
Update: Hwy. 61 in Southeast MN Reopens Following Injury Crash
Dakota, MN (KROC-AM News)- A stretch of highway in southeast Minnesota was closed due to a crash Tuesday morning.

The State Patrol responded to the scene around 8:20 a.m. A van and semi were involved in the collision.
The drivers were the only people involved in the crash.

Injury Crash Closes Stretch of Northbound Hwy. 61 in Winona County
Northbound Hwy. 61 was closed north of the highway’s interchange with I-90 in southeastern Winona County.
The state crash report says the semi was stopped on the right hand shoulder of the northbound lanes. The van was heading north when the vehicles collided.
41-year-old Bradley Alan Tremain was identified as the van driver. The State Patrol says the Winona man was taken to a hospital in nearby La Crosse with non-life-threatening.
The truck driver, identified as 36-year-old Nikola Alan Zifov of Darien, MN, was also brought to a La Crosse hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the State Patrol.
Tremain and Zifov were buckled up and alcohol was not involved in the crash, the state crash report indicates. The Winona County Sheriff's Office also responded to the crash scene.
Northbound Hwy. 61 traffic was routed via westbound I-90 to the County Rd. 12 exit in Nodine. Motorists then used Winona County Rd. 3 to rejoin northbound Hwy. 61.
