Montana Man Accused of Brandishing Knife During Fight at Rochester Bar
31-year-old Cody Allen Dukart of Billings, MT is charged with second-degree assault.
The complaint says a bouncer at the bar, which is not named in the complaint, alerted Rochester police officers on patrol that a fight was about to happen inside of the establishment.
Upon entering the bar, the officers saw Dukart and two males shoving each other. Dukart then turned and the two males began back peddling, according to the court filing.
Dukart then swung at one of the males with a knife in his hand, the complaint says. The court document says Dukart disregarded commands from the officer to drop the knife.
One of the officers got between Dukart and the victims and punched Dukart in the stomach, which caused him to drop the knife. The officer then took Dukart to the ground, the complaint says.
Dukart claimed the two males had stolen his phone, however officers found a phone in Dukart’s pocket that Dukart identified as his, the complaint says.
Dukart made his first court appearance Monday morning. His bail was set at $2,500 and he's due back in court in August.
