Light Snow & Slippery Roads Possible Tonight in SE Minnesota
La Crosse, WI (KROC-AM News) - The National Weather Service is advising motorists to be prepared for the potential for some slippery spots to develop on roadways across southeastern Minnesota tonight.
Forecasters say an approaching weather system could result in a coating of snow across the region beginning tonight and extending into the early morning hours on Sunday. At this time, the snowfall totals in southeastern Minnesota are predicted to be under an inch while areas of Wisconsin could see a couple of inches of accumulation.
Even though the amount of snow is forecast to be relatively small, forecasters say it could be enough to create slick conditions for some travelers. The National Weather Service says there are also concerns about the air temperature warming to near the freezing mark in some areas around the time the precipitation is expected to arrive.
The National Weather Service says there is also a potential for some additional light snow on Sunday when the back side of the low-pressure center is forecast to produce gusty northwest winds on Sunday that could result in reduced visibility in open areas.
