A MnDOT traffic camera stationed at one of the entrances to the fairgrounds captured a fight breaking out around 10:20 p.m. Monday. The video then shows an individual shooting fireworks at police officers who responded to break up the fight.

An hour before that incident, police responded to a shooting that occurred about a block south of the fairgrounds. A St. Paul Police spokesperson told reporters the 18-year-old shooting victim is expected to survive his wounds. Unofficial reports indicate the victim was shot twice in the torso by a person in a moving vehicle.

The shooting victim was reportedly walking with his brother and the two were able to get a description of the vehicle to law enforcement. The State Patrol’s plane responded to search the area from above, however, no arrest has been made.

The chaotic final day of the fair followed an early end to the fair Saturday night after a shooting on the fairgrounds injured one person and sent fairgoers fleeing the grounds. State Fair Police say the shooting victim suffered a non-life-threatening wound.
