Rochester, Mn (KROC-AM News) - A "no-show" for a required court hearing this week has resulted in an arrest warrant being issued for a Rochester man charged in a child pornography case.

36-year-old Dzenan Kamencic was scheduled to appear before an Olmsted County Judge on Wednesday concerning a felony charge of possessing child pornography. He was released without bail last June after he was formally charged following an investigation that began in November 2022 after Rochester police received a cyber tip concerning child sexual abuse material that was discovered on the Snapchat social media platform. Court records indicate the videos depicted a young girl, who appeared to be 6-8 years old, being sexually abused by an adult male

At the time of his arrest last summer, Kamencic was on for a 2019 conviction involving child pornography.

According to the criminal complaint, investigators were able to link the Snapchat account to Kamencic and an address in northeast Rochester. The court document says search warrants were obtained for the residence and a storage locker that was used by Kamencic while he was serving a sentence at the Olmsted County work-release facility.

A cell phone linked to the Snapchat account was found in the storage unit. The charges say investigators also uncovered evidence that suggested Kamencic went to great lengths to keep his activities on the Internet hidden. That included Tor/torrent browsers installed on a laptop and the cell phone used with the Snapchat account.

His previous conviction involved the possession of multiple sexually explicit images of children as young as 18 years old. Court records indicate he was acquitted of three other charges. Kamencic had been accused of attempting to coerce a local high school student to send nude photos to his Instagram account.

It was alleged that he contacted the 16-year-old girl and claimed to be in possession of nude photos of her and threatened to release them if she did not send him additional explicit images. The charges also alleged he was in contact with an adult woman and later sent nude photos of her to family members and other Instagram users.
