16-Year-Old Boy Flown to Twin Cities After Crashing Pickup in Redwood County, MN

Lamberton, MN (MinnesotaNow)- A teenage boy was airlifted following a single-vehicle crash in rural southern Minnesota Thursday evening.

That’s according to a news release issued by the Redwood County Sheriff’s Office Friday morning. 

Deputies and first responders were called to the crash scene shortly after 6 p.m.

16-Year-Old Boy Extricated After Rollover Crash in Redwood County, MN

The news release says a pickup had entered the south ditch and turned onto its driver’s side at the intersection of County Rd. 15 and Justice Ave., which is about 28 miles south of Redwood Falls. 

Authorities described the driver as a 16-year-old boy and said he was trapped inside of the vehicle. First responders extricated the young driver.

The news release identifies the young driver as Karson Martius and describes his injuries as serious.

Teen Driver Flown to Twin Cities Hospital After Rollover Crash in Redwood County

He was transported to a hospital in Redwood Falls before being flown to a hospital in the Twin Cities. 

Alcohol was not believed to have been a factor in the crash, the news release says.
