
Medical Incident Leads to 3 Hospitalizations, Evacuation of Red Wing Office Building
Red Wing, MN (KROC-AM News)- Three people were brought to a hospital following a medical incident at a Red Wing office building.

A total of nine people were evaluated by first responders, according to a news release featuring limited details issued by the City of Red Wing.
The Red Wing Fire Department responded to the incident shortly after 1:00 Wednesday afternoon.

9 Evaluated, 3 Hospitalized After Medical Incident & Evacuation of Red Wing Office Building
Firefighters responded to the report of individuals in need of medical attention at an office building near the Burnside Elementary school in the 4900 block of Learning Ln.
Responding firefighter/paramedics found the building had been evacuated by the time they arrived. First responders began treating the nine people in need of medical attention.
Three were transferred to the Mayo Clinic Hospital in Red Wing and the six others were treated and released at the scene. The news release does not describe the condition of the hospitalized people and does not say what they were suffering from.
Firefighters conducted a search of the building and requested a hazmat team at the scene. No hazardous conditions were found following what the news release describes as an “extensive investigation.”
First responders determined the scene was safe and returned the building to its occupants, officials say. “This incident is believed to be isolated, and there is no ongoing risk to public health,” the news release says.
Along with investigating the possible hazardous situation, emergency responders also worked with staff to reunite families who were at the building at the time of the incident, the news release says.
In all three fire engines,four ambulances, a command vehicle and two utility vehicles were sent to the scene by the Red Wing Fire Department.
The Rochester Fire Department, Hastings Fire Department, Cannon Falls Ambulance, Zumbrota Ambulance, Lake City Ambulance, the Minnesota State Fire Marshal’s Office, the Office of Emergency Medical Services, and Goodhue County Sheriff’s Dispatch assisted Red Wing firefighters.
