Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- Rochester Police say two men are in custody in connection to a robbery and assault that occurred in downtown Rochester earlier this week.

Police Communications Coordinator Amanda Grayson said officers responded to the robbery Wednesday morning. 

Police captured the suspects within 24 hours of the incident, Grayson says.

Rochester Police Arrest Two Men Suspected in North Broadway Ave. Robbery and Assault

The victim reported being robbed and assaulted around 2:50 Wednesday morning at 307 North Broadway Ave., which is the intersection of Broadway and Civic Center Dr. NW. 

Grayson says the victim reported two men kicked, punched and robbed him. Details about the property reported stolen from the victim are not available. 

The victim was taken to the emergency department for treatment of his injuries. An update on his condition is not available in the police report

Police identified the suspects as 26-year-old Abdi Ismail, who is listed as homeless by police, and 31-year-old Bakil Dahir of Rochester

Olmsted County Adult Detention Center records indicate Ismail was booked into the Olmsted County Jail shortly after 1:45 Wednesday afternoon.

Grayson says the suspects are expected to face robbery and assault charges. Their first court appearances have not yet been scheduled.
