Rochester North Broadway Work Shifts as Northbound Lanes Reopen
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Rochester motorists received some welcome news this afternoon.
The City of Rochester announced today that North Broadway between the Silver Lake Bridge and Elton Hills Drive has reopened to normal traffic in the northbound lanes. The announcement says that as the North Broadway reconstruction project moves into a new phase, traffic is being shifted to accommodate construction along the outer sections of the busy roadway, affecting only the southbound lanes.
Southbound Traffic Shifted for Next Phase of Construction
One lane of southbound traffic is being shifted to the inside lanes of Broadway next to the median, while two northbound lanes are now open.
Rochester Public Works says median east-west access is being maintained at all cross streets. The sidewalk on the east side of North Broadway will remain open, but the west sidewalk will be closed between Elton Hills Drive and 14th Street Northeast.

Landscaping and Final Features Planned for Next Year
The reconstruction project began in late March and is scheduled for completion next summer. The city indicates that work on sidewalks, curbs and gutters, and other features should be finished by late December, while remaining landscaping items, retaining walls, and bus shelters will be added next year.
