Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) -  Rochester police are now describing an incident this morning in northwest Rochester as a suspicious circumstance investigation.

An update provided by a Police Department spokesperson says officers responded to an apartment complex near the intersection of West Circle Drive and Valleyhigh Road Northwest around 11 AM to investigate a report of a robbery and stabbing. A man told officers he was on the Douglas Trail north of 41st Street Northwest when someone stabbed him and then took his belongings before fleeing on foot.

The man was transported by ambulance to the hospital with a wound.

The police spokesperson says investigators are now working to determine what happened and looking for evidence to support the man's claims.

Very little information is available at this time, but a Police Department spokesperson says officers responded late this morning to a reported robbery and the stabbing.

The incident was reported in the vicinity of West Circle Drive and Valleyhigh Road Northwest.
