Parkin said the argument and stabbing occurred at a residence in the 2000 block of Osprey Pl. Northwest.
The preliminary investigation indicates the 16-year-old suspect came out of a bedroom and entered the room where the adults were arguing. The boy then produced a pocket knife and stabbed a 40-year-old man twice, according to the law enforcement report.

Parkin said the victim suffered two stab wounds to his upper body. He was taken by ambulance to a hospital for treatment of what are being described as non-life-threatening stab wounds.
Deputies arrested the suspect and transported him to a juvenile detention center outside of Olmsted County. Parkin says the teen could face charges of second-degree assault and domestic assault.
The names of the victim and suspect have not been released.
