That’s according to a criminal complaint filed in Olmsted County Court on Monday morning.
The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office conducted the operation and made the arrest on Friday.
Rochester Man Arrested Following Juvenile Prostitution Sting
The sheriff’s office posted a fake advertisement for sex on a website known for prostitution on September 1. The ad included a phone number.

On September 2, the detective who posted the ad received a text message inquiring about the rate for sex, the complaint indicates.
The next day, the detective responded saying they were a 16-year-old girl and the texter replied "No too young bye," the court document says.
On October 7, the detective received a message from the same number inquiring about a $100 rate.
Over the next two days, the detective and the messenger exchanged texts and agreed to a $140 “full service rate” and decided upon a meeting location, the complaint says.

On Friday, deputies went to the location once the texter said they were there. Law enforcement found the man’s vehicle and took him into custody. He has been identified as 61-year-old Allen Scott Rasmussen.
The complaint says the deputy who had been messaging with Rasmussen sent him a text after Rasmussen was taken into custody and that Rasmussen’s phone indicated he had received a message after the detective sent the message.
Rasmussen is charged with a felony count of prostitution-agreeing to hire a person believed to be 16 or 17.
He was released without bail following his first court appearance on Monday and he’s due back in court next month.
