Rochester Man Convicted in Brown County, MN Criminal Sexual Conduct Case Faces New Charges in Olmsted County Case

The Brown County investigation that led to the discovery of the Rochester case began in May of 2023 when a girl under the age of 15 told law enforcement that she had sex with 22-year-old Quinten Alexander Lovelady of Rochester.

New Ulm police arrested Lovelady after he tried to meet with the Brown County victim and seized his phone, court documents say.

That resulted in investigators discovering an exchange of messages and sexually explicit images of a different minor girl who lived in Rochester in March of 2023, the complaint says.

The victim in the Olmsted County case told police she had sex with Lovelady in Rochester for the first time in November of 2021.

If you or someone you know has been sexually assaulted, resources are available for help. Visit the RAINN website (Rape, Abuse, and Incest National Network) or dial 800-656-HOPE (800-656-4673).

She said the two had sex five more times and that she sent Lovelady sexually explicit photos of herself when Lovelady asked for them, the complaint says.

The charges say Lovelady knew the victim was 15 when the two had sex for the first time. Lovelady is also accused of recording a sexual encounter between himself and the victim in May of 2023.

Lovelady is charged in Olmsted County with third-degree criminal sexual conduct, two counts of soliciting a child to engage in sexual conduct and possession of pornographic work. He’s due to make his first court appearance in the Rochester case next month.

Court records indicate Lovelady was convicted of third-degree criminal sexual conduct and use of minors in pornographic work in the Brown County case last October.

He was granted a stayed prison sentence, but was booked into the Brown County Jail last November, jail records indicate.
