Get ready, Minnesota: one of country music’s biggest stars is heading our way. Kenny Chesney just announced he’s bringing his high-energy show to the Land of 10,000 Lakes this September, and fans are already buzzing.

Minnesota country music fans were disappointed earlier this year when it was announced that Kenny Chesney wouldn't be heading back to the Land of 10,000 Lakes on his annual summer tour.

Kenny Chesney Returns to Minnesota for Huge Fall Concert

Of course, Kenny last played a show here in the North Star State back on May 4, 2024, when his When The Sun Goes Down Tour set up shop at the Vikings' U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. Along with Kenny, Zac Brown Band, Megan Moroney, and Uncle Kracker were also included on that 18-date stadium tour.

However, in 2025, instead of a massive stadium tour, Kenny pivoted and did a limited engagement at the Sphere Las Vegas, where he performed shows from May 22 through June 21. But now, we just got word that you will be able to see Kenny later this fall here in Minnesota.

Farm Aid 40 Brings Kenny Chesney to U of M Stadium This September

That's because Kenny, the only country artist to be in Billboard’s Top 10 Touring Acts of the Last 25 Years for the last 15 years, has officially joined the lineup of Farm Aid 40, which is taking place at the University of Minnesota's Huntington Bank Stadium. According to a Farm Aid 40 release:

2025 Country Music Hall of Fame electee Kenny Chesney is set to make his fourth Farm Aid appearance at this year’s annual music and food festival at Huntington Bank Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 20. Wynonna Judd and Steve Earle have also joined the all-star lineup, the organization revealed.

Kenny's no stranger to that festival, having performed at Farm Aid in 2005, 2008, and in 2012. Farm Aid was started back in 1985 as a way to highlight agriculture in the U.S. According to the Farm Aid website, the event's mission is 'to build a vibrant, family farm-centered system of agriculture in America,' it noted.

Over its 40 years, Farm Aid has drawn from a familiar pool of well-known artists: Board members Willie Nelson, Neil Young, John Mellencamp, Dave Matthews, and Margo Price host the annual festival to raise funds to support Farm Aid’s work with family farmers and to inspire people to choose family farm food, Farm Aid said.

And, they've raised a lot of awareness-- and money. Since 1985, Farm Aid, along with the support of the artists who contribute their performances each year, has generated more than $85 million, which supports programs that help farmers thrive and take action to 'change the dominant system of industrial agriculture and promote food from family farms,' the site said.
