Minnesota Restaurant Now Being Called Best Steakhouse in Entire State

There are a lot of establishments in Minnesota that will serve you a steak, but one restaurant was just named the best steakhouse in the entire state.

It's no surprise that Minnesotans like a good steak, right? In fact, steak is a popular meal not just here in the Land of 10,000 Lakes but across the country. According to a survey in this Fox News story, steak is America's favorite meal. And, steak is also what nearly 66 percent of Americans say they would have as their LAST meal too.

And here in the U.S., we eat a LOT of steak: Americans consumed 27.6 billion pounds of beef in 2020, according to the US Department of Agriculture. The United States accounted for 21.2% of all the beef consumed worldwide, the story said.

Of course, you can get a steak at a lot of different places across the Bold North, from both local restaurants and chains like Outback Steakhouse, Texas Roadhouse, Pittsburgh Blue Steakhouse or Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. But one Minnesota restaurant is now being called the best steakhouse in the entire North Star State.

According to The Daily Meal's survey of the Best Steakhouses in Every State, Murray's  on South 6th Street in Minneapolis is the best steakhouse in Minnesota. Here's what they said about the classic Minnesota restaurant:

Murray's neon sign and aged façade have become a Minneapolis landmark since the restaurant opened in 1946. Over this time, there has been one steak that's won more hearts than any other in the state: the Silver Butter Knife Steak. This 28-ounce sirloin is painstakingly handled by veteran meat cutter Boyd Freeman who has worked at Murray's since 1977.

 

I've been past Murray's classic neon sign and facade several times while in Minneapolis, but I haven't had a steak there... at least, not yet, that is.

Of course, Minneapolis is also home to another classic steakhouse, with a similar name as well: Manny's Steakhouse, on Marquette Avenue. Manny's has routinely been named as one of the best steakhouses in the U.S., and has even been called one of the best steakhouses in the world. I have had a steak there, and, yeah, it's amazing.
