Surprising Donation Items Rochester Savers Will Not Take
Spring is finally in the air, which means the windows are opening, the fresh air is rolling in… and suddenly every closet looks a little too full.
If you’re anything like me, spring cleaning instantly turns into a donation pile. Not long ago, I put together a list of items Minnesota Goodwill stores won’t accept, and honestly, some of those rules surprised me. So naturally, I figured Savers might be a little more relaxed.
Turns out… not so much.

Savers also has a pretty lengthy “won’t accept” list, and yes, a few of the items on it might catch you off guard. Before you load up the car and head to Savers, it’s worth taking a quick look at what they’ll decline, especially if you want to avoid that awkward donation turn-away moment and an extra stop at the recycle center.
Fun fact: did you know when you donate to Savers, you get a 20% off coupon to use on your next in-store visit? Spring cleaning and guilt-free thrifting? Don’t mind if I do.
Another good thing to know, while Savers is a for-profit company, your donations still make a local impact. In Minnesota, Savers accepts donations on behalf of Disabled American Veterans of Minnesota, helping support programs that empower veterans and their families across the state.

They do accept plenty of everyday items like clothing, toys, bedding, and more. But what won’t make the cut at the Rochester location? That’s where things get interesting.
