This Popular Minnesota Beverage Is Only Available 12 Days A Year

It's a popular beverage here in Minnesota that's been around for over a decade now, but you can only buy it 12 days out of the year!

Usually, when a product becomes successful and popular, it becomes more widely available, right? But that's definitely NOT the case with this beverage that's unique to those of us living here in the Land of 10,000 Lakes.

What beverage is it? It's Mini Donut Beer, which is brewed right here in the Bold North at the Liftbridge Brewing Company in Stillwater. And, yes, you can only buy a glass of this incredibly popular brew for just 12 days every year.

That's because Liftbridge's Mini Donut Beer is brewed specially for sale at the Minnesota State Fair each year, and is only available at one location at the Great Minnesota Get-Together, which runs from Thursday, August 24th through Labor Day, September 4th, 2023.

According to Liftbridge Brewing's August Brewsletter:

2023 marks the ten-year anniversary of the debut of Mini Donut Beer at the Ballpark Cafe. Since its inception in 2013, Mini Donut Beer has become a fan favorite and one of the top-selling beers at the MN State Fair.

I've been making a point to make a beeline to the Ball Park Cafe, on Underwood Street, next to the Food building (the only place that sells Mini Donut Beer at the State Fair) to enjoy a pint ever since I first tried it back in 2015. It's definitely a highlight of any trip I take to the State Fair!

Liftbridge Brewing describes their now-iconic beer like this: Mini Donut Beer has a warm tan color, like the exterior of a mini donut. A malty base and natural flavors give this sweet sipper enough rich flavor without overwhelming the palate. Mini-Donut will be served in a glass rimmed with cinnamon and sugar.
