Magical Pumpkin Walk Is the Best Halloween Event for Minnesota Families

There are tons of fun things to do during Spooky Season in Minnesota. If you're into getting scared out of your mind, there are plenty of options. Scream Town, just outside of Chaska, is the top-rated haunted attraction in the state. Or you can head to Fright at the Farm, 15 minutes north of Rochester, and venture through the country’s only haunted cannabis maze.

As a dad with young kids, those attractions are a little too intense for us right now, but I still want my kids to enjoy the Halloween season. One great option for young families is the Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular at the Minnesota Zoo, which gives you the festive vibes without the blood, guts, and jump scares.

The Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular is Back at the Minnesota Zoo

This annual event is the perfect blend of festive and family-friendly. The trail through the Zoo is lined with over 5,000 artistically carved pumpkins, glowing from trees and lining the path.

This year, the walk has been expanded, giving people more room to enjoy the sights without feeling rushed.

Plan ahead, and you can request a personalized pumpkin. How cool would it be for your kids to see their names glowing in a giant pumpkin?

Adults Only Experience at Minnesota Zoo's Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular!

If you don’t have kids or just want a night out without them, the Zoo is hosting an adults-only evening complete with live music, a magic show, drinks, and a more relaxed atmosphere.

The Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular runs nightly through November 2, and tickets are timed-entry only, so be sure to book in advance at mnzoo.org.
