We're always hearing about people losing things, and sometimes the thing is found and we all feel relieved and happy for them, right? When it's wedding rings, I get extra happy when they're found.

Of course, the people that lost the rings are even happier, and if you lose one, just click HERE and connect with a club that exists solely to find your lost rings and more. This is from TheRingfinders.com...

We specialize in finding lost rings, watches, pendants (all jewelry) also cell phone & keys. Lost at beaches, parks, lakes and yards.

Please Note: Beaches and public area jobs are high priority…(time is critical) the sooner a metal detecting specialist can search for your lost item the better your chances of recovery.

Our goal here at The Ring Finders is to offer you a second chance to find what you thought was lost forever. (SOURCE)

It's not a free service...but they all set their own rates.

For example, Ron Holst, a 72-year old US Air Force Vet in Lake City says, he works on a "'Reward Basis' 'What its worth to you and what you can afford for me to come out and find a lost item. I do have a $25 call out fee to cover my gas expenses, maybe more or less depending on where you are located. maybe more or less call to discuss."

Whereas Sean Blassick in Faribault works on a reward deal, too...but his call out fee is $35. So...you really have to want to find the object and give up a good reward to have them do their thing.

They have a few recommendations...

  • Write down everything you can remember about when you lost your ring. EVERYTHING...even the most mundane and dull sounding stuff you think they'd never want to hear.
  • Did you get in a fight and throw the ring? Don't be embarrassed to tell 'em that. They've heard it all...and then some.
  • f you lost it in the water, asap drop something metal where you lost it. Also, drop a pin using your phone...makes it way easier to get back to the right place to look.
  • Get in touch with the police and file a lost item report. You never know, someone may have picked it up and turned it in.

Obviously, take time to talk and feel out the person you're hiring. This is a cool deal, but don't let panic keep you from trusting your gut. This isn't an endorsement of The Ring Finders, I'm just passing along what seems like a cool service.

As always, if you have a comment, complaint, or concern about something I wrote here, please let me know: james.rabe@townsquaremedia.com
