Man Assaulted During Oronoco Home Invasion
(UPDATE - Riley has been charged in the case, while the second man, Richard Virden was released without charges.)
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Two men were arrested Monday as suspects in a home invasion in Oronoco.
Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office Capt. Scott Behrns says a 21-year-old man called 911 around 3:45 PM to report three men had forced their way into his home and one had a knife. The man says he was assaulted before the three made off with a small amount of marijuana and a Playstation.
What the intruders apparently did not know was the victim had a security camera in his home that was used to identify them.
Arrested a few hours later were Matthew Riley and Richard Virden, both 19 and from Pine Island. As of Tuesday morning, investigators were working to find the third man.
