Manufacturer of Children’s Car Seats Recalls More Than 25,000 Seats
The company is recalling the seats because they might not restrain children properly during a crash.
Graco Children's Products Inc. is recalling eight of its models of their Graco My Ride 65 convertible child restraints.
According the the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration, the webbing in these models failed to meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards.
The recall is expected to affect 25,494 units.
The recalled Graco My Ride 65 convertible child restraint models are 1871689, 1908152, 1813074, 1872691, 1853478, 1877535, 1813015, and 1794334.
Dealers will provide consumers with a replacement harness, free of charge the NHTSA says. The recall is expected to begin July 17, 2017... Which is odd considering that's still two months away? That's a long time to wait, while hoping you don't get into a crash between now and then.
In any case, if your model happens to meet the recall requirement, owners can go to www.gracobaby.com/myride-harness-recall/ to order a free replacement kit or contact Graco consumer services at 1-800-345-4109.
Or you can also go to www.safercar.gov for more information.
